Online radio: frequently asked questions

How can I listen to online radio for free?

Pick a station and press play: the live stream starts right away in your browser. Radio Marble is free, with no account to create and no app to install. Browse stations by country or by genre, or search for a station by name.

Can I listen to FM radio online?

Yes. Most stations here are FM and AM broadcasters that also stream their programmes online, so you hear the same live broadcast as on the air, usually a few seconds behind. You will also find internet radio stations that only broadcast online.

Does Radio Marble work on my phone?

Yes. It works in the web browser of any phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download. The stream keeps playing while you move between pages, and when a station shares it, the song or show playing now appears on the station page.

How do I listen to radio stations from other countries?

Open the list of countries and pick one: its most listened-to stations come first, and you can narrow them down by region or genre. Radio Marble lists tens of thousands of stations, from UK radio and American radio to Moroccan radio and almost every other country.

Why is a radio station not playing?

A stream can go offline for a while, or the broadcaster may have moved it to a new address. Some stations only offer an insecure (http://) stream, which browsers block on secure pages. Each station page shows the result of the last automatic stream check; if a station keeps failing, use the “Report a problem with this station” link on its page.

How much data does online radio use?

It depends on the bitrate shown on each station page. One hour of listening uses about 29 MB at 64 kbps, 58 MB at 128 kbps and 144 MB at 320 kbps. On a mobile plan, Wi-Fi or a lower-bitrate stream will save data.

How do I save my favorite stations?

Tap the heart on a station to add it to your favorites. Favorites are saved in your browser only, with no account: they stay on that device and are deleted if you clear your browsing data.

How can I add a radio station that is missing?

Radio Marble’s station list comes from Radio Browser, an open directory run by volunteers where anyone can add or correct a station; new entries show up here after a short delay. You can also contact us with the station’s name and stream address.
